El Camp de les Lloses invited to the Seminar "L'arqueologia. Un Patrimoni social" held in Mataró (25th October 2012)

The Seminar started with a very interesting and enlightening paper delivered by Joan Santacana, professor at the Department of Didactics of Social Sciences of the University of Barcelona. Santacana gave us a message about people's interest on heritage and archaeology: we should reflect and consider if we are really producing an archaeology understandable by the people visiting our sites or potentially interested in historical-archaeological heritage.
El Camp de les Lloses is a good example of local heritage development and enhancement, which is still in progress. The present interpretive centre, inaugurated in 2006, integrates the collection of the former Museum of Tona (1972-2006) and El Camp de les Lloses monographic collection, coming from the archaeological excavations.
The site can be seen as an exemplary solution to the preservation and enhancement of archaeological remains within a local heritage network facing intense urban transformation.
